Hi Team,

My customer is looking for Flyback controller.
The requirement is the following.

-Input voltage: 18-30V(DC)
-Output voltage: 12V
-Output current: 0.5A
-Overcurrent Protection type: constant current type as attatched

Could you tell me the recommended device?

  • TI offers many controllers for constant-current constant-voltage flybacks. The UCC28700/1/2/3 controllers have primary-side regulation (saving money by not requiring an optocoupler). Then you could look at the UCC28710/1 controllers that also offer primary-side regulation (PSR) and include a 700-V start up switch for low power start-up and reduced no-load power consumption. The UCC28720 is targetted for bipolar devices. And then for constant-voltage, constant-current regulation that has the low power start up, PSR for current regulation but also uses an optocoupler for tight voltage regulation during transients you should consider the UCC28740. Any one of these devices may meet your needs depending upon your specific requirements.
  • Hi Lisa-san,

I really appreciate for your support.

By the way, UVLO threshold of UCC28700/UCC28710/UCC28740 seems 23V(MAX).
Is it possible to start up the device at Vin=18V?
The lower limit of input voltage is 18V in my customer's requirement.

If answer is no, I would like to ask if there is another Flyback controller that match the following requirement.
    ---------------------------------
    -Input voltage: 18-30V(DC)
    -Output voltage: 12V
    -Output current: 0.5A
-Overcurrent Protection type: constant current type
    ---------------------------------
