[TPS6306x] The minimum switching frequency in PFM mode.

Hi,

Please tell me, the minimum switching frequency in PWM mode.

I want to know at 2points , the load current is 30mA and 150mA .

The output voltage is setted 5V.

Please introduce if such is specifically material.
Thanks.
  • In PWM Mode (PS = 1), the devices switches with the oscillator frequency 2.2MHz Min. to 2.6MHz Max.
This is specified in the D/S on page 5, Oscillator frequency.

Is your input voltage smaller or larger than VOUT?
  • Hi Florian,

Sorry, I had misspelled the PFM and PWM.

It is the switching frequency in PFM mode want to know.

How far the frequency is slow.

Then load current is 30mA or 150mA.

    Input voltage is about 6V.

    Thanks.

  • In PFM, the device monitors the output voltage and wakes up the power stage, once the output voltage drops. Then it switches and goes to sleep again. This process will be the frequency you will see - we call this PFM Repetition Rate.

The Repetition Rate depends on the exact output current, the output capacitor as well as much more parameters like VIN, ...

The smallest frequency that I can measure on a circuit configuration like the EVM is

    • 56kHz for 30mA output current
    • 122kHz for 100mA output current

I highly recommend to check these values in the configuration you have in your final application.

Do you have any restrictions in terms of minimum switching frequency?
