LM3414 query

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM3414

Hi Folks,

I came across a LED driver from TI. The part number of the same is LM3414. I got a problem here, the datasheet telling that I can reduce the current through the resistor till 350 mA. But if we calculate we can get much lower current if we increase the resistance. So my question is will this IC be able to supply less current say 10 mA if I am going to set the resistance to 200K?

Looking forward to your response!

  • Srijan:
LM3414 has internal current sense resistor. When the LED current is too low, the voltage across the current sense resistor is too small. It cannot accurately regulate the LED current. So the data sheet suggests LED current from 350mA to 1A.
