Hi Team,

I would like to ask about over current protection of UCC28700.
The datasheet shows the following figure.17(page.15).
What is the state of the device at the red part?
Does it come to shutdown if output current is more increased?

I would also like to know what is occured if output is shorted to GND.

Best Regards,
Yaita / Japan disty

  • In the region you refer to , the voltage on the auxiliary winding drops below the VDD turnoff threshold of the UCC28700.
This causes the device to switch off. It will restart when the high voltage rail charges the VDD capacitor to the VDD turn on threshold.
Thus the device enters a hiccup state of shutdown and restart.
