bqStudio shuts down during evaluation with bq78350

I tried to program the bq78350 on the bq76920EVM with EV2300 and battery management studio 1.3.35. The EV2300 and the bq76920EVM are connected with SMBus. As I open the register “Data memory” bqStudio shuts down and the following error message occurs in German: “Bqsbb.exe funktioniert nicht mehr. Das Programm wird aufgrund eines Problems nicht richtig ausgeführt. Das Programm wird geschlossen und Sie werden benachrichtigt, wenn eine Lösung verfügbar ist.“ I tried to translate into Englisch “Bqsbb.exe doesn’t work anymore.  The program doesn’t work correct because of some problem. The program shuts down, if there is a solution you will get an information.”.

    I program the bq78350 with the older battery management studio 1.3.24. There was the following error message on the start screen “MAC command send does not match MAC return in read packet.” Then I open the register “Data memory” and the following error message occurs: “Operation failed because initial read of all data flash failed.”.

    Sorry for your trouble. Are you in Germany Fred? You might try to reinstall the software and whenever you run something, run it as administrator. You can do that by right clicking on an executable file first and selecting the option. I assume that you have obtained the latest firmare release from the bq78350 product page at ti.com?

    We have also seen issues with English versus German settings. bqStudio only works with English settings on your computer.
