LM22672 used for external SYNC

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS54340, LM22672

Hi folks,

I need to syncronize two cascade dc dc converter: first is TPS54340 (output voltage 12V), and second LM22672 (input 12V, output 3v3).
I see in datasheet it's possibile to self syncronize two LM22672, but I cannot find more information about ""output clock"" of the LM22672.
Which is the oscillation frequency when used LM22672 in self sync.?
Is it possible to use in such easy way LM22672 RT/SYNC pin to drive the TPS54340 RT/CLK pin?

Thanks!

  • Hi Stefano,

The output clock of the LM22672 would be the higher frequency of the two regulators. For example, if you had two LM22672, the first operating at 500kHz and the second operating at 499kHz, the second part would synchronize to the first part at 500kHz.

If you are using any other part in tandem with the LM22672, my suggestion would be to use an external clock since the impedance of the SYNC pins may not be the same and amplitudes will vary.

    Thanks,
    Anston
