Hi, we have a re-chargeable low power application (1.8V @ 150uA) that we want to power using a (supercap 12F 2.7V).
Basically we want to quick (30 seconds) charge and run it for anything up to 12 hours.
The only device we have found that could do the job is a BQ25570 (Eval board on order).
We have a BQ25504 EVAL and our tests seem promising with this "similar" device (16hours of operation).
However we are attaching the supercap to the Vin_DC which is not conventional.
Attaching it to VBAT doesn't work as it disconnects once VBAT_UV reaches 2.2V and we don't get the boost.
We are basically using it as a very efficient boost (0.1V-2.7V to 3.0+V) and buck (3.0+V to 1.8V) convertor.
Is this configuration OK to use (with a resistor in series)?
Is there a better way to configure it or simpler device that would do the job as we don't use much of what it can do e.g. MPPT?
Thanks Ian
