BQ24257RGET TS Fault when connecting Temp Pin of the battery

i have used the BQ24257RGET for a new design, i have problem when i connect the temperature pin of the batery , the charging is stopped when i connect it ( i see in register that i have temp problem) i have make a resister divider of 20 K and 20K like the evaluation board.

Remarque : Our battery have 10K ohm impedance between Temp pin and the ground , is it normal?

  • Please use the excel spreadsheet at www.ti.com/.../sluc436 to properly size the resister divider for your thermistor. Datasheet section 10.3.5.5 starting on page 25 explains how the resistors work with the thermistor.
  • Hi Jeff ,

    Thanks for your response.

With specification of my battery a have changed resistors for 12 K and 6 K and its works , i haven't problem when i connect the TS pin.

But when i heat the battery over 50°C the charging is stopped ===> OK

and i read "AA" in Register #6 Memory location: 05 , it was A8 when charging

In Register #1 Memory location: 00 i read "20" and battery not full , it was "10" when charging and i'm waiting for "43"

    Could you please explain me

  • What is the battery voltage when this occurs? Using the JETIA standard, the VBATREG voltage is lowered from 4.2V to 4.06V. If V(BAT)=4.06V then the charger will think the battery is charged.
