bq27425-G2A / CC deadband

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ27425-G2A

Hi All,

Please let me ask about CC deadband. I understand that bq27425-G2A does not accumulate charge or discharge current when the voltage across SRX and VSS is less than CC deadband. Then,

  • Does it mean that CC ADC is disable?
  • Does RemCap or SOC not change if very small current is flow continuously but the voltage across SRX and VSS is less than CC deadband?

Best Regards,

Sonoki / Japan Disty

  • Bump.

I would like to know the answer to Sonoki's question as well. I was reading another post that stated: "However the coulomb counter does take in account these small currents for charge accumulation counts but these are only noticeable after very long period of times."

If I read that right, the CC ADC is enabled and accumulating, but how does the deadband fit in?

  • CC DeadBand is a threshold which decides if the output from the CC is added to the total passed charge. The main purpose is to extract useful data from the CC for very small measurements which are close to the noise floor of the CC.
