TPS24710 capacitor between GATE and GND

In the datasheet Rev F, the description about capacitor between GATE and GND was deleted. I would like to know this reason. If the customer sets this capacitor, is there any concern about device operation?

Best Regards,

  • When the output is hot shorted, the residual charge on the GATE capacitor can cause the hotswap output (because of GATE) to chatter for a few cycles before turning off. Larger GATE capacitors will take longer to settle out. In most cases there will be no issue. The customer should evaluate their hot output short behavior and determine if the response is satisfactory or not.
