Interfacing High Side PWM FET Driver to UCC27210 Input.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC27210

I am looking to replace the upper LTC1693 in the diagram with UCC27210 by TI. Need to transfer down the signal level coming from the upper side output of the LT1339 pin 19, which its voltage is referenced to TS point (booted), to make it referenced to ground so UCC27210 input can handle.

  • Hello

First, a disclaimer: I read the LT datasheet for the part but I cannot guarantee that any advice about the Linear Tech LT1339 part which I give below is correct and you must check my suggestion with LT to get a definitive answer.

Having said that, this is what I think you should do.
First you need to connect the TS output from the LT1339 to ground and the BOOST pin to the 12Vin pin. This will give you a ground referenced TG pulse.
Then you need to connect the TG and BG outputs from the LT device to the HI and LI inputs of the UCC27210.
You will need to add the bootstrapping components around the UCC27210 so that the HO output is bootstrapped to the source of Q1.
The UCC27210 HO and LO outputs may then be used to drive Q1 and Q3

Please look at the UCC27210 datasheet for details about how to connect it.

Send me a schematic when you have one and I can review it, if you wish.

    Regards
    Colin
