I'm not a TI's employee, just another person trying to make this board work. Are you experiencing the same probems that I am?
I tried to make the I2C communication work between bq27532 and bq24250. I bought 3 EVMs (2 from TI and 1 from Mouser) and none of them worked accordingly. I used another I2C adaptor to communicate with bq24250 (CHG_BSCL and CHG_BSDA) and it works fine. When I re-insert the jumpers that should connect the BSCL to CHG_BSCL and BSDA to CHG_BSDA signals and reset the gauge, nothing happens (I checked with an oscilloscope, but I saw no I2C transaction). I was expecting that some registers would be fetched from bq24250 by bq27532 in a 1 second basis, but not.
I am suspecting that a bad batch of these boards went to the market and they aren't admitting it.
I have a question to you, leongersen. Are your board similar to this image from TI's website: Or is it similar to mine from this attached photo?
Edit: I sacrificed one of my boards, desoldering bq27532 from it. As it seems, the electrical connection is OK (ball B2 connected to GG_SCL line and ball C3 connected to GG_SDA line). Whatever the problem is, it must be on bq27532 or it's documentation.
