We want to design a LiFePO4 Battery Charger Using BQ24630 IC.

Ours battery pack rating is 12.8V/20AH , Made up with 4series 6parallel Cell configuration of 3.2V/3.4AH each.

Whats the difference between BQ24630 & BQ24610?

We have already used a ready made charger which charge battery pack in CC/CV mode at 14.8V@5A Max.

BQ24630 is dedicated for LiFePO4 battery.

Main difference are the LOWV threshold for precharge to fast-charge, the recharge threshold, regulation voltage, switching frequency.

Is TI provides any software tool to design LIFEPO4 Charger using BQ24630?

Ours battery pack comprises 12.8V/20AH rating, Made up with 4series 6parallel Cell configuration with 3.2V/3.4AH each.

We plan to use the BQ24630 to charge a LiFeSO4 Battery Pack. We will be applying a 24V Boosted voltage to the charger.

We will not need the AC related components. To save space we want to remove the following from our design:

From the BQ24630 datasheet:

R20, C16, Q1, R14, C14, C2, C3, R18, R15, C15, and Q3?

We would connect 24V directly to R17 and the top of Q4.

I have an evaluation board here that I can try this. But I wanted to know if there are any issues if these

components are removed. IE biases that are not present for the internal logic for this part.

Please advise.

If it is simple charger without input current regulation and power path management, please check the bq24620 application.

My case is without power path management but the Batt Pack is configured as 9S2P (4.2V x 9 = 37.8V). What would you recommend.

Can the bq24640 be used for this 9S2P?. The data sheet says for "Super Capcitor Charger".
