About GND layout of DC/DC converter

Guru 19645 points

I attached DC/DC pattern layout for measure of noise.

I think that Common GND recommend to use through hole.

If Common GND isn't use through hole (connect to via from Power GND),

do you have the spec data which compared with case of use the through hole?

Best regards,

Satoshi

  • There several different ways to connect grounds.  If I use a separate analog ground I typically tie it to the power ground at one place only.  Usually I use a small top side etch connection close to the IC.  Other times I just use a single ground with many vias connected to a single internal or bottom side ground plane.  I have probably seen literature that directly compares ground schemes, but it was many years ago in printed book form.  We have definitely not done this type of direct comparison for any of the converters in my BU.  You might try to google for your information.
