We are just about to go to production with our BQ34Z100 design and an NRND message has appeared on the website.

Will the G1 be a compatible replacement or will the PCB need redesigned. Is the G1 just a firmware update of the original part?

If it just a software change are there major diferences? Will I need to redo the pack optimisation steps?

How long will the old parts be available, when is the last time buy likely to be?

    Morgan,

    The bq34z100-G1 is a pin compatible replacement for the bq34z100 and the firmware can be downloaded to the old device. We will continue to offer the old device in production. I offered commented on some of the improvements added in this e2e post.
