Power ON

Our customer doing project "Climate CPU Board" .Refer to Yellow highlight( pin PWRON & pin PWRHOLD) on picture as below, in TI starter kit used button switch for power on. But customer would like TI to suggest circuit to power on without pressing button switch.

Could you please help to suggest should we offer TI Power Switch(TPS204x,205x,206x) or TI Load Switch ?  Which one is more suitable ? Please advise. Thank you.

  • You can power on the TPS65910A3 with a logic level input on the PWRHOLD pin. PWRON can be left floating if unused. If you do not want the device to be controlled externally you can tie PWRHOLD to VRTC, which will allow the device to turn on when power is applied to VCC7/VBAT.
