BQ40z50 Sleep Mode

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ20Z65, BQ40Z50

With the older devices (i.e. BQ20z65) it used to be possible to determine the operation mode of the BQ by watching the pulses on the TS1 pin.

Can I do the same with a BQ40z50 and if so, what are the pulse characteristics?

If not, how can I determine when the device is in sleep mode?

Thanks

  • David,
The TS pins do pulse as seen on other devices, but the magnitude is about 700mV. The pulse rate does reduce when in sleep mode and the rate can be changed using the Current Time and Voltage Time parameters. You can monitor the thermistors to determine when the device is in sleep mode.
