Is TPS51716 pin-compatible with TPS51216?
I checked each the simplified Application, I think that TPS51716 is pin-compatible with TPS51216.

Yes they are pin compatible. They are similar functionally but not identical. TPS51216 may require different external components than TPS51716 and the operate at different frequencies.

Probably the same number, just may require different values. For instance mode resistance values will be different and LC filter may be different as well since Fsw is different.
