LM5105 Internal Bootstrap diode failure

I am using LM5105SD - half bridge MOSFET controller in my design. The device was subjected to failure, observed by a low impedance path across Vdd and Vss power rail. It was also observed that IC which has failed, reads a low impedance of 12 ohms across HS pin and Vdd/Vss (Vdd and Vss are short). This seem to be a failure in internal bootstrap diode. The input Vin "1KW_AMP2A_LDO_OUT" is 3.3V. No load was connected to MOSFET output and the device was failed during power ON . Kindly ensure the requirement of external bootstrap diode for this is mandatory.
