BQStudio Manual Control Panel Operation - BQ27742

Let me look into this. I suspect it might be to send mac access commands also know as control commands.. I usually use the advanced comm button. I recommend you stick with that for now pending my investigation.

Is there some information already about the Manual Control Panel? I was not able to read any data (e.g. version info). What the Access Style means is unclear.
The only Advanced Comm button is a SMB version, should this work (using I2C)?

Hello Robin,

For the bq27742-G1 device, you should only see an I2C Master Control Panel in the Advanced Comm tab.

As an example, to read voltage(), please start from register 04 and read 2 bytes. You will get the voltage measurement back in Hex. Convert to decimal to get the actual reading.

Is there anything new on this?  I'm using bqStudio 1.3.45  and would like to use the Manual Control Panel to read "Manufacturer Info".

Is there a document describing what Access Style 1,2,3 are?

Hi Bob.
Pls refer to the TRM on how to do block reads and writes as well as how to read and write to registers.

Thanks for the information, I was able to get it done manually using the TRM and other reference material.

Do you know when bqStudio will be updated to allow for the Manual Commands? It wasn't clear what Access Styles (1,2,3) were.

I am not sure i understand what you mean by access styles. You can send all commands using the advanced comm window of bqstudio.

Hi Bob,
thanks for the clarification. I rarely use the manual command window. Like i said earlier on, the advanced comm window can be used to enter any command whatsoever to communicate with the gauge and i recommend you use that instead.
