We have a customer that was planning to use part number bq78PL116 on a new design. They need the active cell balancing feature. Unfortunately, number bq78PL116 is not recommended for new designs (NRND). The bq78PL116 product page recommends BQ34Z100-G1 as a similar, but not exact replacement. The datasheet for the BQ34Z100-G1 recommends part numbers bq77908 and bq77910 for protection and balancing. Both of these parts are NRND as well. Is there a different recommendation now with the these additional parts at NRND status?
