Problem with BQ78PL114

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ78PL114, BQWIZARD

Greetings.

I have the next problem:

I have the accumulator battery based on TS-LFP90AHA cells (LiFePO, 90 Ah, 2,5 - 4,2 V). This battery need for powered 600 W brushless motor. For battery mangment i take the controller BQ78PL114.

I was buy the BQ78PL114EVM-001 module for first experements.

And with this module I'm have some problems: when i'm powered small micromotor (current ~50-100 mA) - all ok

When i try to powered more powerfull motor (from airplane model brushless motor 350 W) at start battery controller gone to reset or hung.

At last  time, bqWizard reported, what firmware was damaged and need to reflash firmware.

Please, advise me, what i can do for solve this problem?

  • If the condition is repeated where the part enters the bootloader mode during use with the 350W motor, does a device reset allow the part to go into normal operation?   Device reset is achieved by momentarily pulling down the reset pin.  On the EVM there is a location for a button in the bottom left corner of the PCB that can be shorted.
