BQ40z60 program / wake-up custom board

While I haven't used the bq40z60 before, I'll ask anyway: Did you connect the input of the pack to a charger?

You should be able to wake up the device by applying voltage to the ACP pin on the device. This can be done by applying a charger.

I will try to connect a charger.
As we added a bq294700 and a chemical fuse I do not want to blow it during a wrong initialization process.

Do I have to:
1. connect a pack
2. connect a charger
3. open bq studio - program the custom configuration?

That sequence should work. The bq40z60 will not blow the fuse until the FUSE_EN has been sent. The bq294700 should not blow it unless there is an over voltage condition.

By connecting a charger to the BQ40z60 it immediately switches into constant current mode. I think this is caused by the default configuration. This mode does not wake up the device as the voltage drops.

I already got one custom board working by connecting Pack+ with VAC. But this seems to stress some components as they get very hot instantly.

Is there another procedure during production to wake up the device and progam the custom configuration?

The charger should be disabled in the default configuration and you have send a Charger_EN command to turn it on. Can you provide a schematic for your custom board?

Schematic is the same as the evaluation board in 2s configuration but without a wake-up switch. Charger_EN command can not be send because there is no acknowledge from device in BQ Studio.
