Bqstudio looses connection with GDK

I am using BQ27GDK000EVM with Bqstudio.Everything works fine for a while when I connect the usb.

I am able to see the GDK enumerate on the dashboard and can talk to the on board Gas Gauge.However bqStudio seems to loose the connection after a while

and the dashboard shows no device connected.I have to restart the application again and unplug the usb for it to work again.

How do I get this to work?

Hi Aki,

Have you tried installing the latest EV2400 firmware (SLUC578)? I haven't had much time to test the robustness of the connection between bqSTUDIO and the GDK after applying the update, but it should provide some benefit.

How do I install this to the GDK? I mean is there a tool somewhere which I can use to get this into GDK's EV2400.

Just had to rename the unknwon file to .zip and the setup showed up.

I tried the tool and have the switch on the GDK in FW update mode but I get errors and the FW is not updated.

1. Error: Adapter returned failure after FW update mode request

2 with -S option in cmd line - Value error: USB VID:PID not found

Have you tried keeping the FW Update switch in the center/normal position? I was able to update the GDK's onboard EV2400 that way.

I was able to update the FW.The way it worked for me was having the switch in normal position when i run the exe in cmd line.When it setting the device in FW update mode,I flicked the switch and it succesfully updated the FW.

Also I am still facing issues with the GDK after this.The kit is unable to charge my battery as the charge command fails after a few seconds.I have contacted TI and am in the process of working out my problem.Thanks for your help on this issue.
