Looking for a Switching Regulator; Buck Boost

I have some rather esoteric requirements and wanted to see if there were any suggestions for part/designs

1) Input Voltage can range from 3 to 9 volts - 1 or 2 LIi-Ion batteries (High capacity)

2) Output power - adjustable from 2 watt to 50 watt min (client is looking to get to 100 watt eventually)

Control of this power can be accomplished by external means but a digital control would be preferred

3) Output to drive resistive load from about 2.5 ohms down to about 0.5 ohm.

4) The design must fit in a hand held unit with limited cooling but duty cycle is small; On 2 to 5 seconds Off for a minute or more.

board area is approximately 3" x 0.825" with limited height requirements, maybe 0.25" on top side and less than 0.06" bottom side

5) Cost is always a factor and I am looking at 10,000 pcs BOM and Assembly (power supply only) < $6.00

6) expected annual usage to exceed 100,000 units - This is no joke or exaggeration.

Thanks for your suggestions
