bq34z100-g1 - IT_ENABLE

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO, BQ34Z100-G1

We plan to use the bq34z100-g1 and are running optimization cycles using the bqStudio software. The SLUA334B (optimize manual) describes to send the IT enable command (0021). We noticed that after pressing the IT_ENABLE button the data flash registers can not be changed anymore, is this correct? Can we disable the IT mode?

Main questions:

1) Does IT_ENABLE make it impossible to change the Data Flash registers?

2) How can we disable the IT_ENABLE mode?

Regards,

Robin

  • Robin,
You should be able to change registers after the IT Enable command has been sent. The cell voltage must be greater than the Flash Update OK Cell Voltage. If you cannot write to the flash, then you will need to reload the default srec to disable IT.

  • Hello Robin.

When you can not access registers it sounds like your IC is in Sealed mode (SS register =1), When I press IT Enable I can still access and change registers.

  • Hi Robin, could help me?

If I got it rigth, what you were trying to do are the steps under the title "When no close Qmax value is known" in the document you referred above, and you wanted to disable the impedance track algorthim before the first discharge at a C/5 rate. I know it's been I while since you were working on it, but as I have probably got to the same problem, I'd like to ask you if you have found yourself the answer to you second question about how could you disable IT-disable mode?

    Thanks.
