USB/Solar charger selection

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25570, BQ24650, BQ24210

Hi,

I need a charger that can charge a 7800mAh,3.6V Li-Ion. It will charge the battery from USB 5V or a solar panel 6V. Ideally it would have a different pin for the load that will draw up to 1A. I looked into the BQ25570 but it seems to extract some miliwatts that are not enough for my application. Do you have a chip that could do the job?

Thanks,

Adina

  • The bq25570 is only going to support an out put current of 100 mA and the max input of 5.1V.  You can take a look at the bq24210 or the bq24650 both of them has higher input voltage limit. However, you will still need a separate charger to charge your battery through USB.
