BQ24257 IC - which pin (BAT or SW) should connect to system load

By referring to typical application circuit of BQ24257 datasheet, system load suppose connect to BAT pin. How about if I connect system load to SW pin, will it operate as expected? The reason I ask so is because we did connected SW pin to system load at previous project and the circuit is working. Please advise. In my circuit design, BAT pin only connect to positive terminal of battery.

    The bq24257 does not have the power path feature and so the load should be connected to the BAT pin. Connecting a load to the SW pin will prevent the IC from working properly. I recommend that you change to the bq24251 and connect your load to the SYS pin.
