Bq24616 / Turn off BATFET at hot battery condition during discharging

Hi Everyone,

Our customer is looking for solution to turn off BATFET at hot battery condition during discharging. Have you had experience to receive such question? They are considering to use typical application like Fig.1 in datasheet.

    Satoshi-san,

    Turning off BATFET will not keep the battery from being discharged. The battery pack should have a gauge/protection built in that completely disconnects the battery from the load during a fault. Usually, the load disconnect is accomplished through back-to-back FET configuration in the battery pack.
