BQ78PL114 USB to GPIO adaptor

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ78PL114, BQWIZARD

I have a customer using BQ78PL114 but he would like another GPIO-USB interface.  I have sent him one but he can't upgrade the firmware.  His description of the problem is below

The first one we had with the Eval kit works, I have it rigged up here connected to a working prototype board, everything is correct.

I've just unpacked the new interface, and plugged it in. It was recognised by XP, as the was the usual bing bong from the speakers to say it is connected.

Ran Bqwizard, no connect, will not talk the working prototype board.

Installed Bqwizard on another pc, this has never seen any Ti software, Connected everything up, same problem no work.

Tried to verify the firmware as before, and the software come up with, failed to find byte 0000 in flash.

Seem's there is a problem with these interfaces, I've seen on a web trawl that other user's have been having the same trouble!

  • your customer must have received a pre RTM kit.  we programmed the usb - gpio adapter before we shipped the kit.

    attach the adapter

go to start menu -> all programs  -> texas instruments -> bqWizard -> USB Dongle Configuration

this will update the drivers in the dongle
