We have made power supply card using TPS563200 to generate 3.8V, 3A from 11V to 16V supply range.

1) When we give only 15V supply generated from 230VAC TPS563200 gives output as 3.83V without load and 3.91V with load(3.3ohm/10W).

2) But when we test it with both 12V battery and 15V supply ORing logic, IC gets shorted at pin # 1(GND) and 2(SW). Why so much sensitive when connected a multi-meter to measure voltage?

3) And when we try to check feedback voltage across feedback resistor(R3) 3.8V power LED turns off and pin # 1(GND) and 2(SW) shows short.

First off I notice that your output capacitors fall outside the recommended range. TPS563200 is designed to operate with low ESR ceramic output capacitors.

Older versions of the TPS563200 may have sensitivity to noise on VFB. You have to be careful when probing it. It depends heavily on PCB layout.

1) As you have suggested, we removed the electrolytic capacitor and used the low ESR capacitor within the range, we got the output voltage 3.81V without load and 3.78V with 3.3 ohm load resistor.
2) How to interpret the version of current IC and which is the version to be used?

That regulation seems well within tolerance. The IC reliability upgrade is a running change. To ensure new silicon, you will nee to rder a non-catalog version. I will post the part number later today.

Please provide me the datasheet of SN1501019, if possible.

I am not getting this part on any site.

It is a special order part number that insures you get the updated silicon. There is no difference in the datasheet except the part number. All performance specifications are the same. You should be able to place a purchase order for the SN1501019 thru regular channels. How do you normally purchase? thru a distributor or direct?

Hi John,

We purchase components through distributor like DIGIKEY, ELEMENT14, MOUSER etc.

For our current power supply, we bought the IC (TPS563200) directly from "TI samples".

And for part no SN1501019 for TPS563200 IC with latest silicon chip, the component is not available on Digikey, Mouser, Element 14 or even on google.

Please provide the source/ internet link to purchase SN1501019 .

I am not in sales or marketing so I do not know the exact details, but we have to set your company up in our system so that you get the correct parts. Are you needing just sample at this point?
