Hi,

I'm using bq76pl536 in our project, and i would like to use OTP EPROM to program S/N into BQ chip.

In order to evaluate it,I've purchase bq76PL536PGM-1 and have installed Aardvark Driver.

I have two questions:

1. When i'm running bq76pl536 OTP EPROM Programming Utility i get dialog box: " Unhandled exception has occurred in your application.."

2. in order to build board programming i would like to implement same design as in bq76PL536PGM-1 board.

can i get schematic of bq76PL536PGM-1 ?

Have you followed the step-by-step instructions provided in the User's Guide?

What OS version is being used?

The software may need to be installed with elevated user rights to ensure all necessary files are being installed properly. Can you try uninstalling, and then running the installation again as an administrator?

regarding bq76pl536 OTP EPROM Programming Utility:
I've tried to reinstall SW and also to run on deferent PCs and got the same error dialog : " Unhandled exception has occurred in your application..".

I am running Windows 7.

I found that Dana Majewski has submitted the same issue under the title "bq76pl536 OTP EPROM Programming Utility Unhandled Exception" and TI forum didn't answer that question.

Any suggestions?

I tried in our lab and no issue.

Computer has XP 2002 service pack(3) and didn't have problem.

This tool was developed few years back so it MAY have compatibility issue.

I will have our tool team to review this.

May I ask why you want to program OTP?

You can program to settings to OV, UV and OT registers. This is what almost all of customers do.

Yes, you have to program again in POR condition but FAULT_H will be asserted when POR occurs.

Personally, I don't see a big benefit of you doing this.

You can also program OTP with your board if you can apply 7V to LDOD.

Hi Roger,

We need to program S/N on the OTP.

Since in our design the on board programming require additional tools (ICT station-bed of nails), we would like to program OTP before component assembly. this is why we would like to use TI's tool to program OTP.

I have difficulty to find XP station but i'm still working to get it.

Any suggestion to avoid XP station will be appreciated.

Shuli,

I tried different .NET versions and didn't work.

For now, you need to XP.

Again, you don't have to program OTP to set the OV, UV and OT.

Most of all customers don't program OTP.
