TPS61202 Does not have expected current output.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS61202

I am prototyping with a TPS61202 to see if it will work for a solar application.

I connected a 0.5V 1A source to the input and at no load I got an expected 5V out. Under load I was only getting about 12mA out. I doubled the voltage input to 1V with the same 1A input and the output current dropped to 4.7mA.

Based on Figure 1 in the datasheet, I expected this to increase the current out, not decrease it.

I am using a 2.2uH inductor.

Any thoughts on what I may be doing wrong in my design?

Also, is there any chance I can get on the phone with someone about this? I have not had a great track record with online forms.

Thanks,

i'm the application engineer of tps6120x from boost converter solutions. have you measured the voltage at the Vbat pin? the volatge at the IC pin side may not 0.5V or 1V. if the input is OK, can you post your shcematic and layout or send  to a0222798@ti.com. the EVMs are on the way, I can't do experiments to verify the issue at the moment.
