Is it possible to be left the M/S pin open at master mode if the sync function is not used?

I know you recommend to put into slave mode if the sync function is not used.

However our customer would like share this device with other board which is used at master mode with sync function. They would like to reduce the cost modifing the layout.

It is possible. As it describes in the note on page 28, what to watch out is with in master mode the SYNC pin will output a clock at 50% duty cycle. This can cause some switching jitter when the duty cycle of the buck is the same.

As you described it is possibility to occur some switching jitter. How about SYNC pin?
Can we left the SYNC pin open as well if the switching jitter will be occured?

Since the SYNC pin is an output in master mode it should be left open.
