Can you please advise how to write a .senc file using BQstudio?

bqStudio does not support .senc files. It supports .srec files, which is the equivalent information. The .senc file is used by the bqEVSW program and the older devices. If you need to upgrade from a .senc to .srec. then you will need to export a .gg file from the old gauge, load the -G1 srec file, load the ChemID and then update the data flash parameters manually by referencing the parameters in the gg file.

Hi,

Where can I find the original srec file for the bq27520-g4 ?
There is only .senc firmware files from the device's product folder not .srec.

Hi Alexis,

You can program the senc file from ti.com on your gauge using bqEVSW, then extract the srec using bqstudio.This will be the original srec.

But when I try to program my gauge using bqEVSW, the have an error 720.

Do you have an idea on my issue ?

My gauge is unsealed (flags SS and FAS are cleared).

You need to put the gauge into ROM mode by sending command 0 x 0f00. Afterwards take it out of ROM mode back to firmware mode by sending command 08 when you are done programming the srec. Better still if the chip you have already ha the latest firmware, you do not need to program it again. Just use bqstudio to extract the srec

Sorry in my last post the error code was 772 not 720.
I tried to put the gauge into ROM mode by sending a write command 0xf00 at the adress 0x00. But I experience the same error "Comm error code = 772"

Do you have an idea ?

pls send a screen shot of your register screen and i2c pro screen as well. When sending the command, it should look like this:

the command is sent in little endian and then you click write data. You can also do this through the control field of dataram.
