BQ40z50 disable / remove pre-charge function

Hi,

in a battery management project with the BQ40z50 we have to disable the pre charge function.

Which hardware modification do we have to implement to remove the pre charge function? Remove R1, Q1, R5 and R8? Should be pin PCHG connected to ground or floating?

You can remove those four components or you can just remove R8. Also, if you decide that you want to use the pre-charge function, R8 should be a 5.1 kohm resistor. The 10 Mohm error has been corrected in the datasheet. You can leave the PCHG pin floating.
