I am designing an LED backlight driver. My LED string is nominally 23.1V and 100mA. My input voltage will vary from 19V to 27V. I was planning on using the TPS61197 as the driver. My question is, the device if the input voltage exceeds the 23.1 volts it will try to provide the LED string, will it cause a problem?

I have changed the design to lower the input voltage. I now have an input range of 17V to 23V.

But I have another question. In the datasheet for the TPS61197 both equations 12 and 13 use the variable D. Is this the same as Dmax used in equation 9?

Hi Alice,

Yes, you can use the max duty cycle value for these equations.
