About UC2842 and UC2842A

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UC2842, UC2842A

Hello

I have two questions about UC2842 and UC2842A.
First, the datasheet format of UC2842A is different from other products.
Is there special reasons?
Second, what is the different in UC2842 and UC2842A?
Best regards
Yokota
  • The UC2842A is a later improved version of the UC2842. The 'A' version has reduced start up current from the UC2842 for better efficiency and trimmed oscillator discharge current for more precise duty cycle programmability. The devices are the same functionally. The UC2842A data sheet is still in the original Unitrode format from when it was designed and released sometime before 1994. The data sheet has not been transferred to the Texas Instruments format yet.
