bqStudio : icon for 'Learning Cycle' missing

I want to use bqStudio to carry out a learning cycle and generate a golden image.

I have seen screenshots showing a 'Learning Cycle' icon, usually between the 'programming' and 'golden image' icons. But it is not there, it is also not accessible through the menus.

When I start bqStudio (V1.3.40) my adaptor (EV2300) and chip (bq27510G3) are detected and everything seems ok, just the missing icon.

Any reason why it may be missing?

The learning cycle plugin is not available for this device on bqstudio.

Thanks for the info.

So how do I carry out a learning cycle and create a golden image?

I had previously used the older bqEasy when using the bq27510G2, but I've read that this is no longer compatible with the -G3.

I have found PDFs but they all refer to the older software or clicking on the 'learning cycle' icon.

Can anyone point me to documentation on doing this in bqStudio without the learning cycle plugin?

Hi Ian,

BqEVSW does support the G3 firmware. However, you can also carry out learning manually based on the attached app note.

Hi Onyx,
Thanks for the PDF, that will be very useful.
Also good to know that I can still use bqEVSW, I had read somewhere that the new firmware has extra registers and bqEVSW had not been updated to work with it.
