Hello,

I'm interested in polling the SOC of the bq34z100-G1 using a microcontroller. I was looking at section 8.3.1.1 and it mentions that the following command pairs are sent to retrieve the information you'd like. The state of charge only has one 8bit hex value listed. Do I need to send that twice or is there something I send before hand?

You just have to enter the SMB command code and read one byte of data to read the SOC and MaxErr. In the case of two byte data, you can enter the first command code and read two bytes of data. The gauge will autoincrement the command code. e.g. To read the voltage, enter 08 and read two bytes of data.
