TPS61070 Noise on output with boost from max 3.2V to 3.3V

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS61070, TPS61220, TPS61291

Hey there,

I'm looking to use a TPS61070 at the moment to boost from two AAA Alkaline batteries. To be safe, I want to ensure that there is not too much noise on the output voltage with a boost from 3.2V max to 3.3V. Read through the datasheet and can't seem to see any graphs on this. Is this a feasible solution to use the TPS61070 to do this? Is there any collateral to go along to support?

My primary concern is the boost with two new AAA batteries causing a bit of noise for an amplifier in a audio application I'm working on. Any comments as soon as possible would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Evan

  • hello Evan
there always be some ripple in output for a boost converter. and the ripple may get into noise frequency in very light load. what output ripple is good for you application? or you can use a LDO or the PWM converter.

What is the output current? TPS61291 or TPS61220 should have small output ripple than TPS61070 if you need PFM device.

    Thanks
