TPS55330 - About behavior of the startup when this device is disabled.

Guru 21045 points

Hi Team,

Currently, our customer are evaluating TPS55330EVM.

And, they would like to know about behavior of the startup when this device is disabled.

After Input voltage(Vin) was applied, Output voltage(Vout) becomes higher than Input voltage(Vin) when this device is disabled.

So, does this device perform boost of the output voltage only once?

And, is this behavior correct?

(This phenomenon occurs at EVM.)

We guess that this device becomes the boost operation because a inrush current flows.

[Conditions]

-Vin=6.5V

-Vout=10V

-Iout=0mA(No load)

If yes, could you please let us know if you have the workaround?

(For example, to change inductor and output capacitor value.)

According to our customer, they would like to limit the output voltage lower than 10V(Target voltage) at startup.

If you contact to below my e-mail address or let me know your e-mail address,

I can send the customer information.

I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
