TPS65251 Abs Max same as Operating Max, is that a typo?

Hi guys,

The TPS65251's stated Abs Max of 18V is the same its Operating Max of 18V, is that a typo? Normally there's some buffer between these two values.

Hi Jason,

The device is transferred from other team to SWIFT, so i can't see this device's database.

Normally, as you say, the ABS Max will be larger than operating Max, but i can't say it is typo for TPS65251.

From the datasheet, TI guarantees that the device is safe if the Vin doen't exceed 18V.

Hi Jason Wang,

How soon could you get access to the device's database? We need to provide more info and are hoping that the Abs Max can be moved higher so that it can tolerate short duration spikes above its 18V Operating Max.

All the folders are empty. I recommend you do not apply any voltage above the abs max for now. Ill let you know if I find anything else.

This being handled off line...The answer is that abs max voltage should be 20V
