We have designed a buck converter for one of the motor testing application. The input voltage is 48-72 volt and output voltage is 24V.
We have designed the system for 8A output current. However when the load is 2A itself the inductor is heating very high, please let us know the issue.
When we monitored the frequency is getting increased when we are increasing the output load. The switch frequency is as low as 500hz (with 1.6usec on time) to 56Khz with 5.6us on time (at 5A current).
So please confirm why the inductor is getting heating up abnormally.
