Hi,

Could you tell me about TPS54160A Vsense Pin?
Is the TPS54160A broken when add the voltage (-0.3V to 3V) to VsensePIN in Vin=0V condition?

Customer want to perform output voltage adjustment using Vsense.
At that time the above condition occurs.

The TPS54160A should not be damaged IF VSENSE is within the absolute maximum limits. But I don't understand exactly what your question is. Can you restate it?

You certainly cannot adust the output voltage when VIN =0V, Vout will always be 0v as well unless there is an external pre-bias.

Customer want to know add voltage to the Vsense PIN when device off state condition.
Is this all right?

I guess I don't understand. If Vin is 0 V, then the IC will not be switching and Vout will be 0V as well. You can inject current into the VSENSE pin while it is operating to margin the voltage up or down. Is that what you are trying to do?

Hi John,

Thank you for your response.
Voltage is applied to Vsense an IC at the time of OFF.
(In the start-up sequence condition of customers issue.)
Customers have to worry about whether the TPS54160A is broken.

If it is not above the abs max, there should be no issue. I'll talk to the IC designer about it to be sure.
