Hello,

Bq76940 series includes VC5b and VC10b pins, connected together with VC5 and VC10 which appears to be trivial.

Does the pin have any particular purpose?

Hi, No special purpose. Checkout the Datasheet Sec 8.1.1 for more details on cell connections for different cell count and connections.

VC5b is the bottom voltage reference for measuring the 6th cell. It should be connected through the input filter to the same cell potential as the filter to VC5, but through separate filter components. Similar for VC10b with cell 11, also VC0 with cell 1.

There is no difference between No.1 to No.15 cells, and there are even cell balancing FETs to make balance them.
Then why they are not treated as homogeneous 15 cells, are are as three groups, each of five, and needs separate filters at each group's adjacent pins?
