Hi!

I have successfully calibrated current and voltage on the BQ34Z100 by using the bqStudio.

I guess the next step is to select the chemestry, right?

Now, I'd like to know how to set the battery chemistry. I've checked the list on bqStudio, but I cannot find the battery I'm using: LC-XB12100P (2 batteries in series). How can I choose the right chem ID? Is there other way of doing this without having to choose from this list?

Lewis,

I can use a Mathcad program to check for a ChemID match. You will need to collect some data and you can use the attached document for guidance in collecting the data.

Ok, I'll have to do that.

After I've identified the battery chemistry, how can I update that information on the BQ34Z100?

I am using bqStudio 1.3.40 and on the Chemistry tab I cannot apply the chemistry as instructed, because right-click does nothing.

What commands does bqStudio send to BQ23Z100? How can I change chemistry by I2C, using my own software on a MCU?

We do not have the option to update the chemistry using your MCU. Is the ChemID present in the selection list? Do you receive any error messages when you press the Update Chemistry from Database button? You mention that you are right-clicking something. You should not need to right-click to update the chemistry.

Thanks! I wasn't pressing the "Update Chemistry from Database" button because there was a text in bold saying to right-click on the ChemID.
Now it's working.

You've mentioned that it's not possible to do it using an MCU. How is that possible if the bqStudio does it using I2C?
If I make the same commands I should be able to do it with an MCU, right?

If not, does that mean that I need to use the bqStudio on every board we ship to update the chemistry?

There are parameter updates to several sections of the data flash and we do not provide the locations, so bqStudio is required to update the chemistry. You can load a data flash file, that contains the chemistry, into the device using you MCU.

How can I do that?
I think I can export a golden image with data and instruction flash memory.
If I use the *.df.fs file containing only the data flash (1k) along with slua541 I can use the MCU to write the entire data flash section on the BQ34Z100.
Is that correct?
