bq27510-G3 Evaluation support

Similar questions have been asked by others but where not resolved.

 

I currently have the following evaluation hardware and software from a previous project.

EV2300/bq27510EVM HPA320 REV A

bqEVSW Ver 0.9.92

 

Now I want to evaluate and later create the golden DFI file for a new project that uses the bq27510-G3 fuel gauge, but the evaluation hardware and software are for the older chip.

 What is the best way to proceed?

 I have the  bq27510-G3 Firmware Image file SENC V4.00. Should I update the firmware of the chip on the bq27510EVM?

 Will this break bqEVSW Ver 0.9.92?

 I have looked for updates to bqEVSW but have not found any.

 I have heard of bqstudio. Will this software do what I want?

 I think I could use bqEVSV and the above .senc file to  install the bq27510-G3 firmware on the EVM. Then proceed to use bqstudio to create the golden DFI file. Is this the best way to go?

    Hi Gerry
    You should flash your evm with the G3 firmware since that is the latest using bqEVSW. Bqstudio works with the G3 firmware. bqstudio is downloadable from its product folder on ti.com . In response to your questions, yes that is the best way to go.
