BQ25010 not charging my battery

Hello Sir,

I'm facing some weird problem regarding charging of BQ25010. When i connect USB cable it goes into charging mode for 1-2 seconds and then suddenly stops charging. I have checked my connection CE pin is pulled low through 1M resistor and ISET2 pin is pulled high for 500ma charging current. Also my ISET1 pin is connected to 1.62k for precharging current of 50ma. Same circuit is working fine on another board but only facing this issue with some boards.

STAT1 & STAT2 line voltage levels(pulled high using 1M resistor)

STAT1 = 3.16V STAT2 = 3.16V (not charging & USB cable is disconnected)

STAT1 = 0V STAT2 = 3.16V (USB cable connected and remains only for 1-2 seconds)

STAT1 = 3.16V STAT2 = 3.16V (USB cable still connected)

Hope you guys can help me out with this situation.

What is the battery voltage? Pleas see datasheet page 12 table 2. STAT1 off and STAT2 on indicates the charge done. STAT1 off and STAT2 off indicates timer fault. Datasheet page 13 timer fault recovery section summerizes recovery method to deal with timer fault conditons.

Battery voltage is 4.06v and STAT1 and STAT2 gets off immediately. I think its timer fault condition and I also tried both the ways which are mention in datasheet but not able to recover it. Same problem is still persist.

Are you testing on your own boards? I do not have an EVM with me so I need to order one. This will take couple days. Meanwhile, if you are testing on your own boards, can you share your schematic?

I have set up the EVM to the values shown in your schematic. The STAT1 and STAT2 are working as expected. Where are you measuring the battery voltage? Due to line resistance of the wire connect to the battery, the line drop will cause false voltage sensing by the IC. This will cause the termination once you plug in the battery. Can you measure the battery voltage as close to the IC pin as possible.
