I'm looking to use the BQ25570 with a solar cell for energy harvesting to charge/maintain a Li-Po battery. I'd also like to incorporate USB charging into the design. What is the best way to do this with the BQ25570?
One of the USB chargers I’ve been looking into is the TI LM3658. Is it possible to connect the BATT line from the LM3658 directly to the VBAT of the BQ25570? Is there a better solution than these two ICs? Will this cause any problems on the VBAT line while the USB charger is connected? Please refer to the image below. Some other system requirements include:
- 3.3V regulated output
- ~25mA peak output current, most time spent in very low current sleep state
- Low current, especially during sleep, is the biggest priority. We are tracking a sleep current of ~6uA.
